Surreal Pop Art Collage by Artist Paul Silva

Founded by Artist Paul Silva from Charleston, SC, Amazing Collage showcases Paul's penchant for creating highly composed pop art collage. His style, while intricate and accomplished, maintains the free spirit of graffiti and other street arts.

Paul grew up in Providence, Rhode Island. In the mid-1970's, he worked in a parking lot owned by his father and would spend the down time of his evening shifts drawing, painting and creating art. At that time, Paul began making his first collage art by piecing together images cut out from popular magazines and pasting them together using wheat paste. He would create transitions from one image to the next using spray paint. His first collage art was produced onto actual walls at his home and workplace.

Later, with the advent of digital media, Paul left behind the messy, unforgiving assets of magazine clippings and began to make new era art composed of images found in online archives, drawings, and allowed for the use of digital photo-manipulation. Paul's modern work retains the same imaginative style as his work from the 70's, while new technologies afford him a much more dynamic workflow and many more options for found image source material.
